Set up IPTV on an LG Smart TV (webOS)

An LG runs IPTV straight from a webOS app — no box, no computer. Do you need a box for an LG?

If something's off
- App won't install or is missing — a region/webOS limit; ask us for a compatible player.
- Login rejected — re-check the URL, username and password (case-sensitive); enter them from your phone to dodge remote typos.
- Channels load but won't play — usually the connection; test your speed and prefer Ethernet.
- No guide (EPG) — allow a minute on first launch, or see fix the EPG.

Frequently asked questions
Will my older LG still work?
If it's on webOS 3.0 (2016) or later, yes — every player above installs and runs fine. The 2020-onward builds (webOS 5/6 and the 22/23/24 sets) are quicker and carry more apps. Anything pre-2016 is happier with a cheap stick plugged into the HDMI port.
My store doesn't show the app I wanted — is that a problem?
Not really. LG rotates which players it carries by country and model year, and drops them now and then. Any webOS-compatible player takes the exact same login, so send us your model and we'll tell you one that's available to you right now.
Does it really matter if I use Wi-Fi for the big match?
It's the difference between a clean stream and a frozen one at the worst moment. The Ethernet port on the back of most LGs is the fix; if the cable won't reach, at least force 5 GHz and sit close to the router.
Do I need a separate box?
On a 2016-or-newer LG, no — the app is the whole solution. A Fire Stick or Android box only earns a place when the set is ageing or its store is bare, and it also opens up TiviMate.
The login keeps getting rejected — why?
Almost always a typo from the Magic Remote. Server URL, username and password are case-sensitive; enter them from your phone or the app's device portal and the problem usually vanishes.
