Set up IPTV on a MAG box

A MAG box does things its own way. Where an app device asks for a login, a MAG (Infomir) authenticates by its MAC address and reads everything from a portal URL. So the flow is: you send us the box's MAC, we register it and hand back a portal, you drop that portal in under Servers → Portals and reboot — and the channels and guide come down on their own. Simple and stable, and once it's wired it holds through a main event without fuss.

Step 1 — grab the MAC address

It's on a sticker underneath the box and also on screen under Settings → System Settings → About (or System Information), in the form 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX. Send that over on WhatsApp when you order — it's the one thing we need to activate you.

Step 2 — we register it, you get a portal

We add your MAC to the service and send back a portal URL. That registration is the whole authentication step; it's why the box never needs a username or password of its own.

Step 3 — enter the portal and reboot

  1. On the MAG, open Settings → System Settings → Servers → Portals.
  2. Paste the portal address we gave you into Portal 1 URL, exactly as written.
  3. Save, then reboot the portal (or restart the box).
  4. Let it pull down the channel list and EPG — a minute on first boot, ideally done before kickoff.

Wire it — a MAG expects it These boxes are happiest on Ethernet, and a cable removes the usual cause of a frozen card. If yours sits far from the router, a powerline adapter beats a flaky Wi-Fi dongle every time.

If something's off

  • "Portal not responding" / no channels — recheck the portal URL for typos and confirm the MAC you sent matches the box exactly.
  • Freezing — plug in Ethernet; the ordered checklist is in the buffering guide.
  • New or replaced box? — its MAC is different, so send us the new one and we'll re-register in minutes.

Frequently asked questions

Why does a MAG want my MAC address instead of a password?

Because a MAG authenticates by device, not by account. Registering the box's MAC is what ties your subscription to that specific unit — which is why there's no username or password to type on the box itself, just a portal URL.

Which MAG models are covered?

The usual Infomir line — 250, 254, 322, 324, 424 and their siblings — all work the same way. Tell us the model with your MAC and we'll confirm before you pay.

Is a MAG better than a Fire Stick for event nights?

It's simpler and rock-steady once wired, but less flexible than an app device. If you already own a MAG, use it and cable it up. If you're buying fresh, an Android box or Fire Stick gives you TiviMate and multi-view on top.

Get a subscription that holds at peak, send us the MAC on WhatsApp, and your MAG is live in minutes.
